Picking a getting ready location for your wedding day is so important! Are you a bride who wants classic and dreamy “getting ready” photos? Here are a few things you should consider:

• LIGHT!  Choose a location that has large windows that allow tons of light to pour into the room or suite. Photographers need as much light as possible in order to create a soft look in their images. Also, having more natural light is flattering to everyone! Your momma and bridesmaids will love it too :)
• SPACE! You want your photographer to be able to spread out your invitation suite, dress, shoes, jewelry etc. without creating more clutter. I try to create a really relaxed environment which means I want all of my client’s friends and bridesmaids to walk around freely without feeling like they’re interrupting what I’m shooting.
• Keep it CLEAN! Tell your bridesmaids to keep all their bags and other belongings in one corner of the room. This will help your photographer so much! Less is always more, in my opinion. Creating a clean neutral background will make your images look more sophisticated and classic.

Try to pre-visualize where everything is happening the morning of your wedding. I also suggest to keep all of your bridal details such as your dress, shoes, jewelry etc in one spot such as a tote bag or shoebox. That way, you’re keeping everything organized for your photographer!
