Last Sunday afternoon involved lots of Red bull, running red lights, and almost losing my car in Center City Philadelphia. Here’s a little recap of my session with Hannah:
If life were simple or predictable it would be boring, right? Earlier last Sunday I met with two CMP couples for their walk-throughs and I was basically chugging Red Bull to keep me going! It is officially wedding season :) Anyways, I picked up Hannah on Sunday afternoon and we headed down to Philadelphia so we could shoot at the Naval Yard! She is a stunning ballet dancer and needed new headshots so we planned for a “urban meets feminine theme”. Well, silly me — the Naval Yard is closed on Sundays. Of course! We drove back up through South Philly and I don’t know how I didn’t get a ticket because I ran every single red light. Hannah was my driving assistant — politely guiding me around the potholes! We ended up in Center City and walked around and found some gorgeous spots. Golden light + colorful front doors are such a good duo :) Hannah braved the cold and rocked the shoot. GAH! I love this gal. We decided to head home as the sun was starting to set and began walking to my car except it was no where to be found. AWESOME. I began to have a mini-heart attack and then we finally stumbled upon my little Honda. I have never been so happy to see her! We laughed the whole way home…it was definitely one of my favorite portraits sessions!
The last few photos I took of Hannah were my favorite. Whenever I photograph a dancer, I always ask them to freestyle for me because I love capturing the raw movement. It is so genuine and fluid. These images are not technically perfect, but I love them so much!
Here are some of my favorites of Hannah:
