This is probably my favorite blog post EVER because it’s all about Josh and I’s wedding in Puerto Vallarta Mexico!! We were fortunate enough to have close to 60 family and friends join us at the Hyatt Ziva as we said “I DO” this past Saturday. We felt such an overwhelming feeling of love and we will cherish our memories forever!
We took a 6am flight from Scranton last Wednesday with our bags filled with wedding decor and my wedding dress! Little did we know that my brother and Carlo upgraded our flights to first class! WHATTT?! So our trip was off to a great start already! Unlimited drinks? YASSS please!
Last year Josh and I visited the Hyatt Ziva and instantly knew we needed to get married there. Our coordinator Valentina was such a pleasure to work with and she answered every email and special request lightening fast! We decided to have our ceremony on the roof of the hotel because it overlooked the Pacific Ocean! I mean, how beautiful is that?! Our reception was set up on the pool terrace underneath palm trees with lots of candles and copper accents.
Everyday leading up to the wedding we spent by the infinity pool or on the beach hanging with family and friends. It was so great catching up with people I hadn’t seen in a long time! It was the first vacation that all my little cousins took together so that was extra special! A few people in Josh’s family had never taken a vacation quite like this one, so that was awesome too! Our photographers Katie and John spent the entire trip celebrating with our families which was SO awesome! They’re basically like family now.
Josh and I woke up on June 24th (our wedding day) to thunderstorms and I instantly FREAKED. People flew all the way to Mexico and we might have to move our wedding inside?! I was so mad. Well, as the day progressed the rain subsided and we were able to have our first look, portraits, ceremony, and some of the reception outside!! Then, a HUGE downpour happened and we all relocated inside. We waited and dried off in one of the bars while the DJ set up in an alternate spot and it was absolutely perfect! We danced the night away and eventually ended up at the hotel’s tequila bar – haha!
My brother gave a beautiful speech at our wedding that emphasized how these moments will never happen again and we need to take advantage of it. We danced to Billy Joel’s “Lullaby” and I’m pretty sure there wasn’t a dry eye at the entire reception! It was a moment I’ll never forget. But, the BEST moment happened immediately when I sat down after Daniel and I danced. I grabbed my glass of water and looked down at the flowers on our sweetheart table and saw a big white butterfly land about six inches away from me. It stayed there for a moment, then flew away. I smiled and knew that someone special was with us!!
All in all, our six day trip to Puerto Vallarta was unforgettable and we feel so lucky that everyone had a great time!
Here are some iPhone pics from the trip — enjoy!
