Earlier this week I went to Miami with a fellow girl boss and wedding photographer and it was nothing short of memorable :) Katie traveled to Mexico last year to shoot my wedding and we planned this little last-minute getaway to relax and recharge before the craziness of wedding season begins!
We stayed at a cute Airbnb in the Wynwood neighborhood of Miami and it actually reminded me a lot of Williamsburg, Brooklyn. It was super trendy with a ton of great restaurants, bars, and art galleries. We went down to South Beach too and tried to pack in as much in as possible… eating and drinking our way through the area! It was great…! The last night we were there, we travelled down to Coconut Grove and had some drinks on a rooftop bar before heading out to our last dinner.
This trip meant more to me than just eating great food and sipping expensive cocktails in the middle of the week. It reminded me that life is short and we need to work hard so we can LIVE — otherwise, what’s the point? If you told me five years ago that I could book a cheap flight to Miami in the middle of the week I would’ve thought you were nuts. But hey, YOLO!
Here are some terrible quality iPhone photos ( haha! please forgive me ) — enjoy :
This was such a cute outdoor bar surrounded by food trucks!
When two photographers hangout … this is bound to happen! HA! Also, this was the best truffle mac-n-cheese I’ve ever had!
This was the outdoor space near our Airbnb!
All consumed before noon on a Tuesday. Don’t judge :)
Vallarta Chicken Tacos ;)
So after dinner on the first night, we took an Uber to the closest Target to get some cheap wine + snacks. We got back and realized we didn’t have a wine opener. So, I found a YouTube video tutorial of how to open a bottle of wine with a butter knife. And…. it worked!!!!!! Kudos to Katie and her muscles! HA!
Sunset on the rooftop bar in Coconut Grove!
Where should I travel to next?! I need ideas!!
